It does look as if the cross processing a color negative film in E6 will yield a low contrast desaturated image with an orange mask. The positive has an overall blue tone. My judgement is that they are salvageable, they going to look eerie.
Could they be scanned as a colour negative (to remove the orange mask) and then inverted in Photoshop to turn them back into a positive image?
