Though it was ideal photography conditions I was basically beaten by the sun and the tide. One minute there was gentle sunlight the next minute full sun. One minute I was standing on dry rocky ground, the next minute I was ankle deep in sea water. The tide was coming in very fast.

I was working on the first rocky outcrop and I had to keep retreating back towards the land because of the tide. By 9.30am it was all over and I trudged my way back to the car thinking that the calm conditions were temporary—a storm was on the way.
