early morning

I was fortunate that the rockface for the second photography was in open shadow. Otherwise it would have been all that effort for just for one photograph. I managed to obtain the photographs that I wanted. I did a close up of the rock face at ground level with the tripod spreadeagled on the ground.

It was a workout carrying the camera gear to and from the base of the cliffs–it reminded me of working out in the gym. It is about a ten minute walk along the Heysen Trail before I turn off to go around the base of the cliff face. It is quite difficult keeping my balance as I slowly make my over and around the rocks, as the tripod is awkward and heavy and I’m carrying the 5×7 in my arms. If I slip and fall, there goes the 5×7.
