exploring the King River

The mouth of the King River is at the south eastern end of Macquarie Harbor. It is a bleak landscape due to all the compacted silt and tailings that comes down from the Mt Lyell mine in Queenstown via the Queen River in Queenstown. It is a dead landscape—there is very little bird or fish life and so there is an eerie silence.

I have no digital camera with me on this trip and I’m only shooting film. So there are no digital snaps. I plan to return tomorrow to the King River delta and to photograph the bleak landscape with the 5×4 Linhof.
