The poodlewalk this evening consisted of walking along the whole stretch of coastline between Petrel Cove and Kings Beach looking for this rock face. I couldn’t find it! Then I remembered that it was on around from Kings Head: it was a set of rocks that had always defeated me. Even though I’d found a way to photograph it, it is a long way from the road.
The walk (it is part of the Heysen Trail) is along the cliff tops, across a couple of bridges over gulleys, along a beach, then around a headland. It would be a major expedition to get an 8×10 monorail and the big tripod down there–it is too far to do it on my own. I’d need help to lug the gear to the location. So I returned with the 5×4 linhof:
Even with the Linhof in a backpack it was a bit of a trudge.
Gary, it looks very similar to the one on Flickr:
“…on location: waiting for the light
Kings Head, Victor Harbor, Fleurieu Peninsula…”
Except this one is taken closer to the rock formantion
Sean it is –I took one photo close up of the rock face itself and another of the rock formation in the landscape. I just liked the clouds of this one.
