Adelaide is engaged in what it calls ‘vibrating our laneways’, which involves more novelty pop up street furniture. It really needs to reform its Liquor Licensing Act of 1997, if the CBD is to be revitalized. We need small local bars rather than the large binge drinking barns. That means the high cost of a license needs to be lowered if a vital creative subculture is to emerge.
