If Lisbon in Portugal can do it why not Adelaide in South Australia? Why cannot a creative economy emerge from the city’s rundown heritage buildings? The rents are cheap, the city is easy to get around, people are starting to live in the CBD and the city has the potential to offer a good urban lifestyle. The state government and Adelaide City Council could put scarce resources into nurturing a creative economy.
Isn’t that a better solution than using the old buildings for car parks?
A creative economy—-design, architecture, digital content, software development, advertising and marketing – is a highly innovative economic activity that would help to create jobs in a knowledge economy–one based on ideas.
