Rosetta Head

I’m still finding my feet with the seascapes. I am not sure what I am doing. It is early days, and I guess that I am in the process of trying things out to see what works as a photograph.

seascape, Rosetta Head

It’s the drama, the light and the atmosphere that is appealing with the seascapes. Yet I want to avoid the rhetorics or tropes of Romanticism.

At this stage I am rather reluctant to lug a tripod and film camera up Rosetta Head from Petrel Cove each time I go up there–especially a large format camera. I cannot tell what the atmosphere is like until I am standing on top of Rosetta Head looking east or south.

It is hit and miss with the cloud formations . Moreover the coastal wind can be very gusty at the top of Rosetta Head.
