We are currently in a drought situation in South Australia and people who are not on mains water in tghe Mt Lofty region have run out of water.
I have been photographing the dryness of the roadside as we walked along these back roads in the early morning or the late afternoon. This photography is a part of the Roadside project.

The photography concentrated on the deadness of the roadside vegetation especially the roadside grasses, rather than the ephemeral, the flux, or the decayed. I wanted the photography referred to the visible effects of the drought.

It was not just the grasses that were dead–some of the native bushes that had survived previously extended dry summers have also died. These bushes were well established and many years old.
There has been rain in the last week — but it has been minimal. A few drops on one occasion and a brief shower another morning a few days latter.
