under the Monash Freeway

I was travelling light–with the Olympus XZ-1 digital camera and a handheld Rolleiflex 6008. The tripod had been left behind at Safety Beach along with the 5×4 Linhof, as I’d exposed all the sheet film in Tasmania.

The next stop was the Glenferrie Rd bridge under the Monash Freeway next to the bike track–the Gardiners Creek Trail which runs alongside the freeway through Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs. We were near the suspended bike path under the freeway near Kooyong Tennis Centre.

An urbanized creek meant a concrete drain. The light was too contrasty and I really needed a tripod because of the low light under the bridges. I scoped it for a 5×4 shoot the next time I was in Melbourne.
