The south west corner of the city of Adelaide is largely light industrial and working class. As mentioned earlier the redevelopment of Sturt Street aims is to make “the dream of inner city living” more affordable for low and middle income earners.
The subsidised properties–known as Sturt Living–will help reduce housing prices in the city and prevent young people from being forced to buy in fringe suburbs. It is part of the Adelaide City Council’s plan for increased permanent residential population and affordable housing units within the City of Adelaide.
