Cities are about people–despite what some of the urban modernist held–and even though I mix daily in the inner the city I find it hard to include people into my urban work. Including people is very tentative.
Some of this has to do with my lack of confidence, as mentioned above, but it also has to do with my ambivalence about the genre of street photography that place the person in the centre of the image.People are not centre in the modern metropolis –it’s the capitalist market that rules this space.
