Whilst I was walking the poodles in the Adelaide parklands, the CBD  and along the coast around Encounter Bay I started to make abstractions of various kinds–tree trunks, plants,  machinery. These just happened in the sense that I  photographed them without  consciously working on an explicit project.

That awareness emerged  latter and gave rise to the Abstract Photography: Revaluating Visual Poetics  in Australian Modernism and Contemporary Practice book published by Moon Arrow Press  in 2016.
