It’s not looking good as the toxic microalgae bloom has roughly spread across a quarter of the state’s coastline–from Kingston to Eyre Peninsula. It’s causing widespread damage to marine life, to the great southern reef and to the livelihood of the fishing industry.

So far there have been 57,000 individual marine mortalities with some 1600 kilograms of dead sea life collected from SA beaches over late-September to early-October.
