Presumably, these conservatives would see Steven Langdon’s studio as an example of how “we have lost our pride in Adelaide.”
If the city council’s activities are rolled back, then that means it is the market that will sort out the urban design to make Adelaide “a place of pride, class and unique beauty”. Their vision is to oppose those who favour public transport, cycling and walking as being anti-car. Their city is for cars and business. They have no desire to curb urban congestion to construct a walkable city
It is also Murdoch’s Advertiser’s tabloid view of the city as well. The Advertiser regularly runs Adelaide bashing articles as click bait.
